Dr.R.Venkat Rahavan specialises in Anterior segment and medical retina.He pursued training in phacoemulsification at prestigious RIOGOH,Chennai and medical Retina training at prestigious Sankara Nethralaya eye hospital,Chennai.He also undergone ZEISS Academy Basic Course at prestigious LVPEI,Hyderabad.All these institutes are tertiary eye centers and ranked as top most institutes of India.

Prior to joining Al Ahalia Hospital Abu Dhabi,he was working at Ahalia eye hospital ,Kozhikode,Kerala for four years. He has performed thousands of surgeries including Cataract surgeries with Phacoemulsification ,Trabeculectomies,External DCR, Pterygium Surgeries,Lid Repair,Tarsorraphy,as well as Retinal Lasers. Dr. Venkat Rahavan graduated with a medical degree from GMKMC,TAMILNADU Dr.MGR Medical University, India, and completed ophthalmology residency from prestigious Madurai medical College,India. He completed an international Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship in Basic science and optics .
