Dr. Rini Saha

Dr. Rini Saha has over 9 years of experience in ophthalmology after residency. Prior to joining Ahalia Eye Care, Dr. Saha was working as a consultant ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at iRIS superspeciality eye hospital and Orchid Medical Centre, Ranchi, India. Prior to that she did her 2 years long term clinical fellowship in adult comprehensive glaucoma at Toronto Western Hospital, University Health Network, the University of Toronto, Canada from 2018-2020. She also did a short term observership in glaucoma at National University Hospital, NUS Singapore in 2018.Before moving to Canada she worked as a senior resident ( Ophthalmology) at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Lucknow, India from 2016 – 2018. She did a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery fron Sad Guru Netra Chikitsalaya (2013-2015), India and served as a consultant ophthalmologist at ASG private eye hospitals.

Dr. Rini Saha completed MBBS from MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur, India and MD in Ophthalmology from Dr. RP Centre, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India – the apex medical institute in India. She has been conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons(FRCS) of Glasgow, United Kingdom.

She is also a provider for BLS and ACLS from American Heart Association.
Dr. Saha is well trained in various ophthalmology procedures related to glaucoma and anterior segment pathologies. She is proficient in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma (gonioscopy, YAG laser, SLT, trabeculectomy, Ahmed valve surgery, micropulse diode laser, cyclo diode laser). Her areas of interest include primary and secondary glaucoma, normal pressure glaucoma.

Dr. Rini has delivered a number of presentations at various national and international meetings including Annual conference of Canadian Ophthalmology Society. She has 12 indexed peer-reviewed publications. She is a member of several national and international ophthalmology societies.
