Dr Kubra Banu is our specialist ophthalmologist with 20 years of experience . Her interests include phacoemulsification , anterior segment surgeries , medical retina , intravitreal injections and comprehensive ophthalmology . She is also well versed in anterior and posterior segment lasers .
She has passed out her MBBS with distinction in 1999 from Karnatak University obtaining gold medals for best preclinical student , Pharmacology , Obstetrics and Gynaecology . She did her DO from Rajeev Gandhi University of Health sciences with gold medal in 2002 . She is also a fellow of the Royal college of physicians and surgeons of Glasgow since 2009 . She has done the Lasers in diabetic retinopathy training at Aravind eye hospital Coimbatore , and Ratan Tata fellowship in advanced cataract surgery at Sankara Nethralaya in 2003 . She started her career at MRC eye hospital Mysore . Before joining Ahalia Eye Care , she worked for 18 years in UAE in a leading private hospital in Abu Dhabi
She is a life member of Karnataka Ophthalmic Society and All India Ophthalmological Society
